This is an appartment hotel some 15 minutes by metro from Stockholm centre. The hotel is new, and clean, and has large, stylish rooms, equipped with LCD TVs, microwave oven and other cooking possibilities. The neighbourhood is a quiet residential area. The breakfast area is rather small, and the selection of food is small.

We came in on Sunday, only to discover that the reception was not open at all on weekends, something that we had not been informed about. The staff, which could be reached by telephone, was not helpful when we asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere, but suggested that we came to the same chain's hotel a 15 minute drive away. Furthermore, they said that we could check in at 14 o'oclock, but it turned out that the rooms weren't ready before 16:30.

Ilay Tours, Madagascar

We traveled with Ilay Tours on Madagascar in September/October 2006. It proved to be a very reliable operator. We organised most of the things we needed from Ilay by email before departure, and the guest house in Tana was nice, the vehicles and the drivers they used were also very good and was a good fit to our needs. They required pre-payment for certain services, but we found that this was unproblematic.

Ilay Tours has contacts with more specialised tour operators for some tours. They were also of good quality.

In conclusion, Ilay tours is a tour operator that can be trusted to organise a tour to Madagascar.

Si zhu xiang tea shop, Beijing, China

I ended up in the Si zhu xiang tea shop in Beijing thinking that tea is something you might want to experience in Beijing. I ended up with a lot less money. The tea was OK, but not more than that, and upon request, I got a menu, and decided to attend a "tea ceremony". The menu was hardly comprehensible, however, and what I thought was the price for the whole thing was the price for each tiny cup. That amounted to 2880 Yuan, or around 260 € or 410 USD.

I'm usually a pretty critical tourist, but the credibility of the place was increased when I said that I carried very little cash, and they responded that they accepted several credit cards, also VISA, and they used electronic terminals.

There are apparently many such scams going around Beijing these days, so beware and study the menu very carefully and leave unless you understand it.
