A great place to stay in Basilicata (Italy), not too far from the Amalfi coast, from Paestum and Pompei, from Matera (which I recommend everyone to visit!), while offering a quiet shelter for travellers who do not like chaos and crowds. At a reasonable price. The owner is a very kind lady, who can provide very useful advice to visitors. You need a car to reach the place, as it is really in the country side.

This is a 3-star Konfort Superior hotel in Kniestrasse 33, Hannover. It is very close to the Leibniz University and th L3S research center. The hotel is modern, rooms are big and confortable, breakfast is ok and the price is very reasonable. My room was also very quiet. Wired Internet connection is avalaible for free, but you need to bring with you your ethernet cable (or you can buy it for 10 Euros ...).

Trattoria near the city center of Trento, Italy. Good food, reasonably priced, the owner (Adriano) is an interesting guy. AT the second floor they have a very big room for ceremonies carved in the rocks.

This is a small "rifugio" near Bellamonte, a small village in the Trentino Dolomites, in the ski resort of Alpe di Lusia. La Morea offers the opportunity of organizing dinners during the ski season. You are taken to the rifugio by snow cat, you can enjoy great food in a wonderful environment (don't miss the final Parampampoli, a hot coffee with alcohol burnt at the table). Finally, you can go back to valley by sledge. The sledge ride is definitely to be recommended, a great experience (if you are not too drunk). Bring warm clothes, including gloves and hat.

Excellent conference center located in Busan, South Korea. The building is very modern (I like it, though I'm not a fan of modern buildings in general), very convenient to reach by subway or bus, not very far from the beautiful Haeundae beach.
The confernece support was very good, everything was timely and smooth.

A 3-star hotel near the Haeundae beach (approx. 300m). Easy to reach by subway (station: Haeundae). Many restaurants in the area. The hotel is basic, but the price is fair for quality (between 48 and 60 Euro per night per room). No hotel wireless network provided, but several open networks cab be used from outside (e.g. ESSID haeundae).

This is a small "rifugio" in the mountains around the city of Trento, Italy. It is at about 700m above the sea level, and has a spectacular view on the valley of the Adige river, on the city of Trento, on Monte Bondone, Paganella and the Dolomiti di Brenta in the background. It can be reached by car from Trento in about 20 minutes (follow Villazzano, Grotta di Villazzano and then Bindesi). The best thing about the rifugio is the restaurant. The lady cooks great local and national dishes, everything home made and fresh (you eat only of you book in advance). Prices are fair compared to the quality. Last but not least, the rifugio is next to a small climbing area (called Bindesi) where you can build up your appetite. A must if you are in the Trento area.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Waiters have all been very nice with us. The side dishes were brought a few minutes after the main course, and for this reason they decided not to charge them on our bill! Not only steaks are great, but also grilled chicken, asparagus, fries, wild rice were excellent. Prices are reasonable compared to the quality.

This is a B&B in Banff (Alberta, CAnada). It is very reasonably priced, everything is tidy and clean, the owners are a very interesting Italian couple that has been living in Canda for more than 25 years. She cooks great sweets and cakes, freshly made every morning. Definitely recommended if you stop in Banff!
