The manager of this building contracted with a solid-waste firm to collect waste from the building every day at 3:00 a.m. The noise from the collections was disruptive to many residents of his own building and two buildings across the alley. For weeks, he claimed he was trying to get the collection time changed, but it did not change. Finally, some affected residents contacted the city government and the solid-waste firm agreed to change its collection time. The firm also claimed that the Helix manager had never contacted the firm about a change in the collection time. The Helix manager's comments indicated that he believed tenants should be willing to accept nightly loud noises. Perhaps, but as a tenant I'm not willing to accept managers like the one who runs the Helix.
