We have heard here and there over the past few weeks, the imminent opening of the first poem hotel in Paris. It is hoped, one wonders, everyone is waiting impatiently. But what is it?
What is this idea of creating a hotel as a poem? Verses, stanzas, alexandrines, I see nothing here that looks like a bed or a bathroom!
It is said that this hotel is coming out straight from the imagination of its owners, Mrs and Mr Gatien and their daughter Isabelle. It is also said that it is a hotel which has its own memories before they actually exist. It is finally said that it is a place dedicated to traces of writing, unexpected forms that are told over the rooms.The Apostrophe hotel, joyful metaphor of speech, that calls out for the reader-traveller, the well-informed contemporary traveller, modern urban nomad in search of an intellectual feeling, romantic if possible. We are in Paris’ 6th arrondissement, in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres, where literature, poetry and drama took ruthless positions, exposing the heart of men of good composition.
Apostrophe Hotel, the first poem in the world opens its doors in Paris with the idea of charming every Parisian and urban nomads in search of authenticity and surprises. Apostrophe Hotel because the hotel where the adventure is to be lived. Initially it was a restricted family business but they did not hesitate to pick up passengers along the way … Sandrine Alouf, the atmospherist, Catherine Feffer, the shadow magician on giant facades, Vincent Bastié, the passionate architect. Meetings that led to subtle staged around the writing and the visible versus invisible.
Discover the room dedicated to music with a magnificent fresco on the wall above the headboard, a partition with a giant treble clef and on the ceiling some giant piano notes that give relief to your dreams.
The bathrooms are magical too, the art of taking a bath in water that changes colour. Ideal for relaxing, the change of colours is what makes the Apostrophe Hotel so special. Like the play of moving lights reflecting in the tiny multicoloured shower tiles.
The Hotel Apostrophe is a pure poetry.
