Blender is a great 3d modeling and animation suite . It's really a powerfull tool which is as powerfull than others 3d professionnal suite. You can also create your own 3d interactive applications and video-games with Blender and his Python full integration. Interface is a bit disconcerting the first time you open the software but it is very efficient and flexible. Blender is the best way if you want to learn and to make 3d pictures and animations freely.
