This is an unusual and thoughtful take on the vigilante/revenge genre in that the vigilante is female (Jody Foster). One cop puts it something like this - women kill their kids, their partners, people they love but they don't do shit like this. So the film explores the "what if" aspect - what if a woman did do this - in a believable way. The acting is superb, script very good, the film has a very good soundtrack - quiet and understated, the film looks good - the cinematography is excellent and it was directed by Neil Jordan. The only bad thing about the film is the title.
